Taco Bell + Driving = Mess

I usually bring frozen lunches to eat at work, but today I didn’t have one, so I went to my favorite cheapo fast-food restaurant: Taco Bell. I only had $5 and I decided to drive through and eat on the way back to work. They had a $4 special on their new Chicken Ranchero taco combo, so I went for it. Little did I know that the sauce they put on those things drip like a faucet. I’m driving down San Felipe and getting my pants drenched in that sauce - which was really good, by the way. So, now I look like a total slob - hooray for me.

Could they have eased off on the sauce a little? Or maybe I just shouldn’t eat and drive…

Foiling was a success!

Foiling Rick’s office was a complete success and was also a ton of fun for all involved. I really wish I could be there to see his reaction. The pictures are here but it may not show up because I have it protected at the moment. My coworker, Allen, wants to blur out anything that might come back to haunt us, like network topologies and company logos. So, until I do that manually, I’ll have to keep it protected.

Foiling - the new office pastime

Rick, one of the managers in my department with whom I’m good friends with took my big stack of Linux Journals to read over his vacation. Problem is, he didn’t tell me he was doing so, which left me with a big mystery to solve. Accusations ran wild and people were hurt, but my friend, Trey, suggested that Rick might have taken them. I called and he confirmed this, but that just wasn’t good enough. ;-) So, I and some of my fellow coworkers have decided to give him a nice welcome-back present. We are going to cover his entire office and everything in it with FOIL! To get a good idea of what we are using as an example, click here. I will post updates and pictures on our progress.

Lights on! :-(

Well, it seems that there was one brave soul that decided to challenge the norm and turn the lights on. I’m pretty sure it was our department director since she tends to challenge most things.

It was fun while it lasted…

Lights out!

Ok, this is so funny. Since my friend, Trey, and I usually are the first ones to get into work, we leave the lights off because we just like it that way. But we usually don’t get to because one guy, Jerry, always gets here first and turns them on. But on the days he doesn’t, we leave them off. No one else minds until a certain person walks in, turns them on, then comes to her desk and says, “why are you guys sitting in the dark?” - which irks me to no end, but is understandable.

So, Jerry is on vacation for the next 4 weeks. We decided today to see how far she would go to get them turned on, so we taped the switch shut. To our surprise, she didn’t turn them on and just chalked it up to the construction guys doing work down the hall. But now it’s kind of scary cause our boss is wondering why they are off because he is now in a completely dark office. I really want to see if we can make it to the end of the day. If we do, I’ll just take the tape off on my way out.
